Blue Moon | Our Story

Blue Moon was founded by Chris Wishbone Walker after decades of experimenting with fun foods and unique flavors. He began his love affair with food in his mother's kitchen as soon as he was old enough to see over the counter. He would watch her intently as she made southern classics, like buttermilk biscuits & fried pork chops, well fried everything. His passion for cooking further developed when he was tasked with preparing meals for large groups on horseback pack trips in the Big Horn, Wyoming Mountains in 1969. Instant success displayed an innate talent with cooking and service. Since then he has grown into the quintessential vertical foodie. He and his wife, Mary Pat, grow plants from seed, harvest them, transform the raw foods into sauces, spices and spreads, then package and take them to market as finished products.
